Francesco Solimena, Judith with the Head of Holofernes. And what’s she doing here? So glad you asked. Judith is a starring character in one of the “bad” books of the Bible.

The Bible is full of weird and wonderful books. But some of the most weird and wonderful—the so-called Apocrypha or Deuterocanonical books—get a bad rap today. First written then later rejected by Jews, preserved then abandoned by (at least some) Christians, the “bad” books are the Rodney Dangerfield of the Bible.

What’s the deal? In our new podcast for Ancient Faith, “Bad” Books of the Bible, we introduce these books, discuss their content and history, and explain their value to contemporary readers.

And what about this newsletter? We’re using this space to share our shownotes, research, and other fascinating tidbits and resources. Sign up now as we prepare to launch.

In the meantime, tell your friends!
